I began writing features and profiles in high school and college and continued publishing in local newspapers and magazines throughout my former career in library services.

While working as a library manager and purchasing agent, I started writing fanfiction as a hobby. My work garnered many awards. I taught workshops and contributed to fanzine sites as a fan of serial Sci-Fi shows like Doctor Who, Buffy, Farscape, Wednesday, Severance, Battlestar Galactica and Alien. In 2015, I decided to focus on original fiction, characters and stories.

I am, also, a trained animal behaviorist. I studied to be a veterinarian at West Texas A&M, but went into library management instead of becoming a vet. I live in central Florida with my husband, two parrots and an almost tame feral cat. I continue to study animal behavior and communication.
